THE first images from Brad Pitt’s new movie have been released — with rising Australian star Xavier Samuel staring down the Hollywood heavyweight.
Fury is set in the final month or so of WWII, with Pitt’s US Army sergeant Wardaddy commanding a tank on a mission behind enemy lines.
Samuel, who has appeared in the Twilight franchise as well as local films Drift, A Few Best Men and Healing, plays a young lieutenant who clashes with Wardaddy’s men. He told News Corp his character is fresh out of the academy.
“I’m very green to be in a position of authority dealing with older guys who have had much longer war experience, so it’s an interesting collision.”
Wardaddy’s crew is made up of Shia LaBeouf (Transformers), Michael Pena (End of Watch), Logan Lerman (Noah) and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead).

Writer-director David Ayer (End of Watch) told US magazine People that he “set out to make the ultimate tank movie”, putting his actors in a genuine WWII era German tank on loan from a museum.
Ayer said Pitt, 50, was playing a “badass, hard, tough, intense guy. It’s a different kind of role for him”.
Samuel is no stranger to big-name co-stars, having acted alongside the likes of Naomi Watts and Olivia Newton-John. But the Fury shoot in the UK was on another level.
“It’s a big film and to be suddenly standing across from Brad Pitt, someone I grew up watching and admiring for a long time — it was an amazing opportunity,” he said.
Fury opens in Australia on November 13.

He's her Prince Charming: Angelina Jolie is accompanied by Brad Pitt at private reception for Disney movie Maleficent

He's her Prince Charming: Angelina Jolie is accompanied by Brad Pitt at private reception for Disney movie Maleficent

She plays the title role of the evil horned fairy in upcoming Disney movie, Maleficent, but Angelina Jolie looked more good than bad when she stepped out on Thursday night with her beau Brad Pitt.
Angelina, 38 and Brad, 50, attended a private reception at Kensington Palace in which props and costumes from the movie were exhibited.
The event was in aid of Great Ormond Street hospital and was also attended by Elle Fanning, who plays Sleeping Beauty Aurora and Sam Riley, who plays a character called Diaval in the film.

Angelina could barely keep her eyes, or her hands off Brad as they posed for photos on the blue carpet.
She looked incredible in an embellished floor-length black gown, which had a plunging neckline and a low-back detail. Co-ordinating their look, Brad was dressed head-to-toe in matching black.
The couple were joined by their eldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 12, who does not star in the movie, but was clearly allowed to attend the event as a special treat.

The soon-to-be teenager looked cute in a black shirt and skinny jeans which he livened up with a red tie and a cool leather jacket. He wore his hair slicked back and looked thrilled to be with his parents.
His mum placed a protective arm around her shy son and Brad was also on hand to help lead the way as they walked to the palace together.
Also walking the blue carpet was 16-year-old actress, Elle Fanning, who looked like she had just stepped out of a fairytale in her romantic looking get-up.

Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Teaming On New Project written by Angelina

DEADLINE EXCLUSIVE: Here is a film that instantly becomes the one every studio will want on their slate. Angelina Jolie is in early talks to star with Brad Pitt in an original script that she has written. It’s in the early talking stages and nothing is solidified, but I hear it’s happening. I don’t know a lot more at this point.
The film hasn’t locked distribution, but it will team Jolie and Pitt together for the first time since 2005?s Mr. And Mrs. Smith. That film displayed an intense chemistry onscreen, and this was before they became a couple offscreen. Jolie is working on post-production on Unbroken, the adaptation she directed of the Laura Hillenbrand book. Universal has set a December 25 release for the harrowing survival tale of Olympic track prodigy-turned-WWII POW Lou Zamperini. It’s expected to be right in the Oscar mix. Unbroken was a hotly contested directing project, and Jolie won the job with a presentation that wowed the studio, where Donna Langley also was very impressed with her directorial debut, In The Land Of Blood And Honey. She next stars in Disney’s Maleficent, which opens May 30 with Jolie playing the title character in the revisionist version of the fairy tale.
Will reveal more when I know it. Pitt is coming off 12 Years A Slave and most recently wrapped the David Ayer-directed WWII tank movie Fury, which QED produced and Sony is releasing. Stay tuned. She is repped by UTA and Media Talent Group Pitt by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment.
